Hi all I'm 22 wks pregnant can anyone tell me how/when/with who do I sort out the birthing plan with?
Reason im so concerned is that I have a medical condition which mean that's I could have very serious (fatal) reactions to some anaesthetics, my neurologist has sent info to the obs doc at the hosp bit nothing to midwives- I can have an epidural but it's all needs agreeing and going onto my notes properly- will this be done at my 28 wk Mw app or do i need to arrange an app with the obs doc/ or my gp?! Thanks for any advice

I should say that the reaction unto anaesthetics is on my notes but not that I can have an epidural

Can you get a copy of the letter your neuro wrote and put it in your notes - at the top so it can't be missed?

I'd also speak to your mw if I were you about what else can be done xx

Could you write a draft in time for your next mw appointment - or your ob?
Then this can not only attach to your notes now, it means your thoughts are put across clearly in a short appointment time ?

Any meds that are dangerous to you should be written in bold on your notes.

If you are worried You can go ahead and write your own birth plan.

Tell midwife at your next appointment your worries.

You should have a referral to see the anaethestist before you labour as they will need to see you prior to that incase you need any emergency treatment. Does your midwife know you have this condition and that it is relevant to anesthetics?
