It will very much depend upon the guidelines adopted by your local hospital. There are units which very much encourage the use of water for VBACs because it supports normality. There are others who will say that woman having a VBAC "have" to have continuous monitoring, cannula sited etc which all mitigate against normality.

You can refuse treatment but you cannot insist on the use of the pool - so you can decline CFM etc but that doesn't mean a unit have to make the pool available. Sometimes calling their bluff by arranging a homebirth suddenly makes things which weren't available, available - so by way of a compromise, you can use the pool if you agree to a hospital birth. Or you could just plan a homebirth which means you can do as you wish!

Thanks that's a real help!!! I suppose I need to speak with my HCPs to see what options I have. My friend is a midwife and at her hospital women who are having VBACs aren't allowed to use the birthing pool as the scar needs continual monitoring she said.

I'm currently trying to weigh up my VBAC vs ELCS options to see what Im better off going with. I'm only 21 weeks do still a way off but would like to make an informed decision and do lots of research first.
