Well back in December 2010 some of you lovely lot really helped me along whilst in labour with DD2...

Today it's dc3 (gender unknown) due date...

So, although Im not having a planned home birth this time, I will still be labouring along with you lot, if you'll have me :)

Ooh good luck! How many weeks were you when dc1 and dc2 were born? I think we should start placing bets on when this one will arrive!

Marking place - also planning a homebirth for 5 weeks so very keen to hear how it all goes!

Both the girls came at term + 2

1st labour 4 hours "established labour" 10 mins 2nd stage

2nd labour 14 hours "established labour" 4 mins 2nd stage

Both back to back. Both still little terrors.

Have a MW appt later. She wants to give me a "good hard sweep" - I told her no thanks!!!

Second labour longer?! Eek! I'm also on no 2 and had assumed this one would fly out!

Report
OnlyWantsOne · 20/08/2012 14:12

Oh don't worry - my second labour was badly managed and probably would have gone like the 1st if I had been helped (ie given a drink and some pain relief)

That was never 2010. Seems like 5 minutes ago. And how did i miss you getting upduffed again?

Spent most of the night having cramps - painful enough to hurt but not labouring yet. Dull. Shall pack DP off to work much to his disgust and entertain the dc !!

Is it normal to be utterly terrifed that some thing will go wrong?

Ah of course it is onlywantsone I think every mother about to give birth has these fears whether it's their first baby or not.

Just remind yourself that it's a normal natural process and it's what our bodies are meant to do.

Is your DP your only birth partner?

Yes DP is only one this time

  • he has strict instructions ;)

Was booked in to local MLC birth centre but am having a wibble and think I want to go to the hospital MLC delivery suite instead.

If that's what you'd feel comfortable in going then do it. When you are at your most vulnerable you need to feel confident in knowing you're in the best place for you.

Im sure everything will be just fine therefore would you feel disappointed if you didn't go to MLC when everything went swimmingly?
