Can anyone recommend a hypnobirthing course in SW London?

There are quite a few hypnobirthing classes nearish to me (balham/clapham) but I have no idea how to choose one!

I would really appreciate a recommendation from someone who has been through birth and put their class into practice.

Ideally I am looking for a group class rather than individual/private.

Thanks!

Not sure how far you want to go but I can recommend Helen Redfern who is based in South London. She does groups and 1-2-1 classes in your own home. Her website is: helenredfernbirthandbaby.wordpress.com/hypnobirthing/

Good luck!

Thank you nelly! Bit of a trek from me but I will definitely bear in mind if I can't find something closer - I would rather go further but to someone recommended.

We did a course at the vitality centre in Wimbledon, it was good I can't remember the details but a quick google should find them, I try if u get the chance. Dont know if that's a bit far away but I'm sure they have more venues x

Thanks! I have seen recommendations on other forums for courses at the Vitality Centre in Southfields SW18 - looks like that might be the same place? not too far from me.

Hi there. I am a Natalhypnotherapy practitioner, and run workshops based on Maggie Howell's book and CDs, "Effective Birth Preparation" in Wimbledon - have a look at my website www.birthconfidence.com - happy to chat - details on the site.

see www.HypnoBirthing.co.uk. These practitioners are all certified and annually reviewed by the HypnoBirthing Institute. You can be sure you will be taught HypnoBirthing, The Mongan Method - the internationally acclaimed and recognised program.

I run Inner Power Hypnobirthing in West Wickham. Have a look at my website //www.innerpowerhypnobirthing.co.uk. Give me a call - details on my website. I am happy to chat as I believe in hypnosis with a passion as I use it on myself a good deal.

Hello, after a terrible first birth experience I did hypnobirthing for my 2nd and it was wonderful, what a difference between my experiences. It was so amazing that I have since trained as a hypnobirthing practitioner. I currently run courses in SW London, Southfields/Earlsfield area. If you're interested then please look at my website: www.birthinstinct.co.uk - there are testimonials on there too. I'm also happy to talk to you if you have any questions about it, my number is 07528 243527. I hope you have a wonderful birth.
Kirsty.

Thank you for your lovely comments about my Hypnobirthing courses! My name is Reshma and I used to teach from the Vitality centre in SW18, until very recently finding a new location.
After 7 years of teaching at the Vitality centre and the centre having new management, I decided to relocate up the road to Wimbledon, SW19 :-) I also teach from another location on Hampstead high street NW3, which I have also been teaching from for 7 years. Hypnoclinic are one of the first and top Hypnobirthing Specialists in the UK which I am very proud to share.
My courses are fun and packed with lots of useful information and life transforming skills and techniques. You will leave feeling empowered not only for the birth but for other areas of your life too! Come and join onto one of my fantastic courses at either location where I'll provide a space for you to achieve a really calm and positive birth!
For further information and to receive a FREE download (in an English voice!) please visit //www.hypnoclinic.net or call me on 07939 925 302
I look forward to hearing from you!
Warm regards Reshma

I am so happy to have come across this site and even more happy that I have found you Reshma! I was looking for you on the Vitality centre website but you no longer teach there... they weren't very helpful when I asked for your details. Any how, I am pregnant again and would love to come to one of your courses!
I will email you via the website details above.

mamabluebell · 21/02/2013 20:15

I attended Reshma's course a few months ago. My partner and myself loved the course. We felt immediately at ease in her presence which made it so easy to relax and so did everybody else. My birth was intense but it was the most amazing experience of my life. I know I couldn't have birthed Jacob naturally without Hypnobirthing and the support and guidance of Reshma.

Shagmundfreud · 22/02/2013 17:14

This lady is excellent and hugely popular locally. She is a very experienced practitioner: here

Congratulations Mamabluebell!

It is great to hear that you had a good experience after attending Reshma's course :) My best friend has just found out she's 3 months pregnant, so she'll be attending her course too in a few months time. xx

prittypea · 08/03/2013 23:58

Reshma's courses have been successful for me and a few of my friends. I gave birth to 2 babies using Hypnobirthing after attending a course with her for both pregnancies at the Vitality centre. As I am pregnant again we are looking forward to another refresher!

mumzy80six · 28/03/2013 22:09

Thanks everyone! This is a really useful thread. It re-affirms all the good things I've heard about Reshna's courses and others at Hypnoclinic.

I hear that she has a real modern touch to her style of teaching and she gives everyone one to one attention on courses!
This has helped to make my decision.

Susan111 · 18/12/2015 15:49

I have just done a course in central london at St Thomas Hospital with Katharine Graves and it really was fantastic. Hubby felt confident as it was at such a well known place as well. I have 3 months of practice to do now, feeling super positive. Here is the link where I booked www.kghypnobirthing.com/hypnobirthing-classes-in-london

Just bumping this thread again as I'm looking for a hypnobirthing class in SW London (living in Earlsfield). Has anything changed? Any recent recommendations?

Hi,

I just came across this thread and noticed that nobody had responded to the last poster. I'm afraid that even I am a year late! But better late than never.

Yes, lots has changed in SW London over the past few years.

Most importantly (to me at least!) is that my company Better Birth Stories has been successfully running fantastic, one-day group hypnobirthing classes from a gorgeous studio in SW11. They are held on the last Sunday of every month so the parking outside is free and we have great access by public transport.

If you'd like further information about our hypnobirthing classes then do please visit our website at www.betterbirthstories.com/ or if you'd like to see some of the work that I do then head on over to our YouTube channel (if you subscribe then you'll be notified when new content comes up) goo.gl/NNaSXr

I very much look forward to teaching you our hypnobirthing & common-sense birth techniques.

Melanie x
