I dropped a bra size over night, Im 38 weeks, i have loads of energy, might baby come soonish?

38 weeks today and last night i was quite uncomfortable with baby doing stuff in me.

woke up this morning and could immediately see how my chest had shrunk around the bra band area and putting my bra on confirmed it had changed lots during the night.
I have so much more energy today than i have had in a very long time.

I know no one can know for sure but does it sound like i just might be close-ish? Or does / did your bump drop and you still be pregnant 3+ weeks later?

Really dont want baby until Thursday (for school reasons) and tbh id like to have next weekend just me and OH too.....
do you reckon that sounds feasible?

(my midwife saw me on Thursday and said she couldnt see any sign that things would happen within a week or so, but today i suddenly feel different)

My bump was quite low from about 38 weeks, DD was born at 40+16.

However, that has no bearing on what your baby wants to do, and realistically, it could arrive any time between now and about 4 weeks time - whenever it feels like it, school or not!

I had a very similar conversation with my friends last night - she too is 38 weeks pregnant and just dropped a bra size over night. Not sure it is any indication of impending birth and if its first pregnancy I would have thought more times than not, babys take their time. I have been trying to read signs as I am due tomorrow, but to be honest baby will arrive when shes ready and these things happen at different times for different people.

I think I have made my waait worse this time by convincing myslef she will come early. Last two times I just accepted baby would be late and just got on with it. Wish I could do that this time too!

On a good note though my second son came with no signs at all but I was 5 days over by then. Good Luck with baby x

Hi, am with you on the hanging on till Thursday, makes life easier if they have a Sep birthday for school but will have to see. Good luck if it is things progressing.

My bump dropped abpout 4 weeks ago at 32 weeks and I am still here with a bump.
I hope it isn't a sign, my son came 4 weeks early and I need this one to stay put till the 1st at least because I don't want them to be in the same year at school

The same thing has happened to me, am 32 weeks. This is my 6th though, so I am really hoping he doesn't turn up early.
It is normal for 38 weeks, it means you are gearing up for the big day
Hope you can hang on for as long as you would like.
Usually by 38 weeks I start hoping for delivery sooner rather than later..

well no baby yet

my washing machine has died this week, and new one comes on Wednesday so im hoping baby lets me catch up with my laundry before he / she comes and generates a load more.
(+ i want to be here not in the middle of a home birth when delivery men arrive!)
