A bit TMI I know...
When giving birth to DD I had an epidural at 3cm. I progressed well, but even after my epidural only one leg was numb and I was getting the most horrendous contractions---in my bum . At the time my midwife said that was normal to feel . Now I am expecting DC2, I am seriously questioning: 1) if contractions in the bum are normal and 2) did the epidural work? Any experiences? I want to get it figured out before doing it all again as my consultant said he would refer me to an anethestist prior to giving birth for an assessment if in fact the epidural didn't work...
