My eldest son is almost 17 he is a good boys and gets in with his studies and sees his friends regularly, gym etc but he has mentioned over the past year he thinks he has functioning depression (where you get on with your life but don’t get any pleasure from anything) he isn’t a massive talker and won’t disucss with me or my husband, I know there is so much going on in his head and I don’t know what to do I want to get him to see someone before he goes off to uni next year . Does anyone have any advice or experience with this .

Is there a youth advice centre or club locally? We have one in our town and they were really helpful with DS, giving him someone to chat to regularly, who wasn't one of his parents or teachers. They were also able to give some counselling sessions.
