Hi there, am just checking in to see how you are and how you are doing - if you have had chace to talk to anyone or contact mindfulmums daughter via her website.

I know from experiences with my own daughter that talking to someone outside the family is often much more helpful, as your parents are often too close, so hope you have felt able to talk to someone. There are lots of people out there to help you, try the youngminds website and also italk in some areas, not sure where you live. If there is a friendly nurse at your school, try and contact her, it will all be confidential if you dont want anyone else to know. What helped my daughter was to have the help and support of an outside counsellor, and we arranged this by going to talk to our doctor, who was a lovely lady doctor and was happy to listen and come up with some help.
When we got to see the counsellor we were amazed at how many young people were there all with different things to talk about - you are really not alone, so please don't think that you are. It took alot for my daughter to talk to me and although it was hard, I am so glad she did, as I am sure your Mum would be.

Thanks guys.
Im not ready to talk to anyone in real life - someone who will tell my mum. My mum has done so much for me, she has always worked so hard to make me happy and to get me into amazing schools, her knowing would just destroy her.
Do any of you know what I should do?
P.S. letting it out really helped, today was the first day in 8 months that I haven't cut/burned myself

So sorry that you are feeling like this.
There is a list of real life organisations here who'd be able to help - not least the Samaritans if you're feeling suicidal.
Take care. They can help.

You are very clearly an intelligent and sensitive person, your post is well written and thoughtful.

Are you having any specific difficulties with friends or school, for example? Or is it more a general feeling of depression and anxiety?

Most secondary schools have good support for pupils in the form of Learning Mentors or Student Support Workers. Do you feel you could talk to someone in 'real life'?

Stay safe x

Hello Anniebellie, I am sorry to hear that you are not doing so well. I agree with Reliable. Do you have someone you can speak to about this?

I won't say just speak to your mummy, because I can see that you are not ready for that. Would it help you to speak to someone who has gone through this? I have some adult friends who self-harmed when they were young. Would you like to chat to them?

Is there a teacher you can talk to.
You are young, you don't know what the future holds for you but then none of us do.
I am old (ish) life isn't always easy but it's certainly worth a good shot.

And i know you said don't say talk to your Mummy but i bet you anything she wants to help, even if she doesn't know how,you can find other people to talk to and maybe she can help you find that someone.

Lots of love.

Hi Annibellie -firstly, well done for being brave enough to ask for help, I'm sure someone will be along soon to help you properly, I'm just a mum with no experience of this I'm afraid. Do you have any teachers at school that you can talk to ? or your school nurse ? please don't be afraid to approach these adults, I'm sure they will do everything possible to get you the help you need.
Take care x

I am actually a 12 year old girl who has just started secondary school.
I needed to ask someone who was a mum, but not my mum, cos I really don't know what to do, and this way I can get it all out.
I have been self harming for about 6 months, and I think I could be depressed. I have considered running away several times before I started cutting and burning myself. At the weekend I planned suicide as well. No one in my family knows about any of this.
I used to love learning and living, but now I don't see the point in any of it, I don't have a good future so there's no point.
I really need help before I plan my escape again, so PLEASE help me, and don't just say talk to your mummy
