DD1 - 7. Quite sensitive normally. Just seems so sad/miserable at the moment. She is just truly grumpy. Doing jigsaws with DD2 and DD1 flipped as DD2 wasnt doing the edges first. (sigh). Everything is getting an irrational response from her.

I've gone from being understanding ti being quite peeved.
I have asked if anything is troubling her - No. (she is starting Juniors in Sep but hasnt mentioned that as n issue)
If she is tired - I AM NOT TIRED (ahem).
If I can do anything to make her feel happy and less sad - she stormed off to her bedroom and is now playing alone.

In the past I have read, The Highly Sensitive Child, and it did help us understand DD - tbh I have very similar traits, and I do wonder if that causes it's own problems.

Any ideas on how I can help DD identify how she is feeling - Ihonestly dont think she knows what the problem is....

Does she have enough to keep her busy? I also have a sensitive 7 year old DD and have found that the more she has to do, the less grumpy she is. It can be an excess of energy as much as anything.

We don''t have much cash atm so we have begun taking her to the local pool and walkinng there and back...this all takes about three hours and she is much happier.

Boredom may be a factor. I have been unwell lately, as has her sister, so she's had to just get on with stuff. She is better when her day is structured and there is a routine to follow but I find that hard to do every day during the holidays....
