Chicken keepers

This bloody hen still isn't laying. Can you get hens which never lay?

Right, three chickens from Omlet - delivered on 12th May.

The guy said they could be anything from between 16 to 20 weeks old.

Let's say Beattie (my non-layer) was only 16 weeks old when she came here....that means she must be at least 25 weeks old now but I reckon she's older.

What's the oldest you've ever had a POL actually produce the goods?

Is it possible to have a chicken which never lays an egg?

Could she be a cockerel in disguise?

Sheeeeesh!

Well I think her wattles have pinked up some more EB. They don't seem that dissimilar to her twin (the other GN Ranger) who has been laying beautifully for a while now.

Hmmm, guess I'll just have to be a bit more patient then! I seem to remember LadyTH telling me on here that she had one that was 25 or 26 weeks plus as well, PofP.

Grrrr....she is very cheeky and funny mind!

Thanks LTH - what's with the name change?

Glad to know it's not just mine! Mind, as I said down the thread, she is very funny. DH keeps threatening her with the 'pot' but I've seen him chuckling away at her antics. He could no more ring her neck and cook her than he could poke his own eye out with a red hot poker!

abit of a relationship issue.

I changed it incase he searched my post, which woudl be some kind of miracle in itself.

However I've told him how shite I feel now, so he knows everything....so I'm back to the normal me now.

Finally...just popped out to collect eggs, fully expecting just the two as usual and there it was! Three eggs, one much smaller, oddly shaped and the shell is part rough/part smooth but never-the-less, an egg!

Glad you & DH cleared the air LTH.
