Guilty as charged ... the divine Hugh F-W is partly to blame too, mind. I have three chooks who are coming into lay (allegedly) and I'm getting so impatient waiting for those first eggs!

was nagging dh for yrs to keep chickens (even before MN became chicken happy) but we found out dd is allergic to egg and he is mighty smug that this fact has shut me up.

i guess i can still keep nag him by saying i am raising them for slaughter.

No - had decided years ago it was summat I wanted to do but the timing of the chicken keepers section on here was perfect for me!

Not me. Have had chickens for 4 years. However, find the topic hugely useful

Mine were given to me for my birthday three years ago as two eggcups and an Omlet brochure, then we had all the Avian flu drama, so shelved it for a while.

I am also not away for a month this summer as in previous year, so have the time to settle them in and nurture them.

I think that MN has given me a push. We were going to get then a couple of years ago after years of gentle nagging. We had a house chosen etc and then dh got panicy about bird flu and changed his mind. The chicken keepers topic brought it back to mind and I only had to nag for a few months this time

Not me. I have to say though when I realised (only recently, bit dim smilie needed) that there was chicken section I was chuffed.
