Was fine and suddenly started standing still and closing eyes.... now on my lap with mouth open though not making any noise .... no panting or heavy breathing sounds.... any ideas????

Am dreading the worst tbh..... she is only 4 months and the other two are fine so can only think she may have eaten something poisonous?

So weird... massaged her throat and she perked up...? Maybe an obstruction?

Sounds like an impacted crop, do a google.

No turned out to be 1 soft shell egg and 1 unformed egg, both of which she lay that night at the same time so she was just not feeling well, the following day she was fine

missfoodie oh bless her. I'm glad she's feeling better. One of mine has laid 3 soft shell eggs in the last few weeks due to heat stress. I've been crushing up calcium tablets and mixing it with their breakfast (mine have ride and cucumber!)

Today she laid a hard egg and I was delighted.

The other one laid a soft shell in middle of afternoon in garden then another under roosting bar in night..... no regular egg this morning either....

Is it all heat related then?

They don't seem hungry either....

missfoodie it's stress of some sort. Could be the warmer UK weather or just adjusting to their new environment. They should settle down.

Mine eat much much less when it's hot. And the chicken food has the vitamins and minerals in that they need.

The sorry comes if the egg breaks inside them. So definitely keep an eye on them.
