Solitary chicken dilemma

I have a dilemma - would appreciate the thoughts of experienced chicken-keepers. It boils down to this - which of the following two options will be less stressful for a chicken:

Option 1 - be a solitary chicken for a couple of weeks, but then move to a place where there will be lots of other chickens.

Option 2 - be introduced to a couple of new friends now ... and THEN move, with your new friends (who you may or may not like!) to a place where there will be lots of other chickens.

I know that she needs company, but I'm not sure whether new introductions followed quickly by a move might actually be more stressful than being alone for a little while.
