what do I tell our chicken sitters to do? this chook has always been a bit of a lone rAnger, and today neighbour saw two of the others really going for her. Apparently she has an impact wound to the side of the head, but until i speak to our sitters i don't know how bad it is or anything. We've only had them a year and never had any issues, but I've read that if they see blood they just go mental at the wound??

As. In the other chickens pecking at it, not the injured chicken...

They will peck at the bloody bit. Your chicken sitters may need to separate them for a bit if it's really bad, if not so bad then they should get some of the purple wound spray that acts as an antiseptic and covers up the red.
