Chicken keepers

Can I get an expert opinion on choice of coop?

I will be new to keeping chickens and will just be having 3 hybrids to start with. I am watching this on eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chicken-ark-coop-/320729635109?pt=UK_Pet_Supplies_Poultry&hash=item4aacf9d925#ht_613wt_922 and wondered what any experienced keepers thought? Would probably make a fenced run area for some free ranging around it but is this big enough? Will it be easy to keep clean? I like the idea of being able to move it around a bit. All help very much appreciated, thanks in advance Smile

The coop is plenty big enough if they get access to more room. I have no idea how easy it would be to clean. I have an egloo, very easy to keep clean but don't think it is very attractive. My dad has a lovely wooden coop which is not so easy to clean but looks much nicer.

Being able to move it around would be a plus, ours are in a fenced in run about 5 foot by 10 foot but it is like a quagmire at the moment with all the rain we have had. They will need moving again soon so we can sow grass seeds and let the area rest. A real pain as we have to move them into the garden which will then get wrecked too!

Good luck, I love my chickens and they come running over now for a cuddle!

I have one very similar to this, very easy to clean as you just fold down the side ,no bending down which is very good.Plenty big enough for 3 hybrids I would have thought. What type are you getting?

We started off moving it but as they destroy the underneath very quickly if they are on one place for any length of time we now leave it in the same place and have hard wood chips in the bottom.Ours free range about 70% of the time .

Fenced run a good idea, the larger the area the less destruction!
