Chicken keepers

My chickens have not layed for five days - is it the weather?

after a month of getting eggs every day from all 3 they've suddenly stopped.

It's rainy and a bit colder but they seem healthy, eating plenty.

Anyone else's chicks not laying?

Mine have dropped their laying rate too but not stopped altogether. Do they get wet? Mine used to stop if they got soaked but were too stupid to seek shelter Hmm

Have they got a sneaky nest hidden somewhere?! Mine (god rest their souls Sad) used to do that frequently!

They can't get out the run and they are getting soaked, I've just covered the end of the run as they're too daft to go inside the house in the rain.

Youre right, it may be because they've got wet.

Sounds like it, yes. I make mine stay in their small covered run when it's raining instead of being out and about free ranging. They do seem to get very miserable when they're wet.

Mine only stop when they're broody.

all of the above are all the reasons that they stop laying. you just have to alter things around a bit and see what works. how old are they?
