Your baby changing bag recommendations please

My friends all rave about those backpacks you can buy on Amazon. They're cheap and look stylish. There's a million different brands and they look like this. Sorry I can't be more specific!

Avoid the silver cross one it's rubbish !

The metal loops which hold the strap on turn and burst the seam on the bag.

Happened to a few people who had the same bag as me.

Yep, those Amazon ones are great. We have the Lekebaby one. I see them all the time at baby classes. They're really good value and hold loads.

No need for a specific changing bag at all. Total waste of money. Ordinary backpack every time. Spent £15 on my most recent one from Sports Direct and it's lasted 18 months so far.

Had an actual changing bag, gave it away when DC1 was about 4 months because it was pointless.

Pink lining is my fave ones lots of room with pockets & they are really cute,be getting another one for when my new baby comes.

The backpack ones I on amazon are great, I've got an Alameda, all the interior pockets are waterproof and it has a lot of storage. Would definitely recommend a backpack in general.

I found it very useful and really liked the separate compartments for nappies, bottles etc. Really helped me stay organised and I felt it was a bit more handbag like, than a change bag.

I am pregnant with DC2 and using the same bag again as it withstood the test of time. I wish it would break as I’m liking the look of the leather ones, but DH very firmly says no chance!

When I look at change bags, I personally want something which is attractive and doesn’t look like a change bag. I need it to have proper compartments so that I can organise everything properly. I like them to be washable/wipeable and easy to use.

Tiba & Marl bags are fantastic! Really stylish but practical at the same time with plenty of pockets and compartments. I have their Elwood black quilted backpack and love it - my kids are now 4 & 7 but I still use the bag on days out with them. It also came with a smaller cross body bag that you can use for shorter trips out to fit change of clothes/snack/nappies etc.

I bought a Pink Lining bag, it ticked all the boxes. After a couple of months I started using a Longchamp bag instead, I much prefer having a light bag for carting stuff around.

It's light. Easy to carry. Plenty of pockets. Stylish and attaches to the buggy with buggy straps. If I need.

@DappledThings I'm planning to get just a regular backpack - most changing bags are too identifiable as changing bags and I'm loathe to spend significant amounts of money on something that only serves one (fairly fleeting) purpose. Plus I want something my DH will be happy to carry on a regular basis!
Would you recommend particular brands / features in a backpack? Is it very important for example to have loads of pockets??

The generic changebag from amazon/eBay that someone posted upthread.

Cheap, but sooo practical. They’re smaller than the standard messenger style bags, but you can fit more in them because the space can be used more efficiently.

I wouldn’t spend £££ on a change bag- I prefer something cheap that I can throw in the washing machine if it gets caught in the line of fire of baby sick/mushed up veggies/ribena.

Hi JonnyPocketRocket I think having a good few separate pockets is helpful. Most proper backpacks come with those anyway. I have a small Karrimor at the moment. The two side pockets that can hold water bottles are definitely useful.

Kerikit - expensive but practical and wears really well plus super stylish! Bought a rucksack version when I first had my son and debating a servings now I'm due again soon

Baby mule - can be used messenger style or as a back pack, easily clips onto pram. Lots of compartments. Machine washable and dries quickly.

I'm a lover of a nice stylish but not too expensive changing bag. I've got 2 so far. The skip hop Chelsea satchel and the bugaboo one which matches my buggy. I usually just stick my purse and phone in the changing bag so I want something pretty to use. I had a pink lining one with my last baby, used it for 3 years and still sold it on after. I'm not a backpack kind of person tbh, I like a changing bag with all the dif pockets and bottle holder compartments

I had the pacapod rucksack in black and orange. I was after something that let me have my hands free for toddler wrangling and that my husband could also carry without it looking like a "ladies" handbag, as he should have to carry it too! Was also in the vague hope that he might take baby out somewhere on his own! I loved all the compartments, the spare clothes/dirty clothes bag and the changing mat was nice and big.

I had an over the shoulder change bag and grew to find it a hassle carrying it. I much prefer an old backpack now!
