Nissan Juke

I’ve inherited a Nissan Juke but the back seat belts are causing a problem in that the receiving bit is so low and short (level with the seat) that it’s taking ages to put the other bit in. Is there a way of pulling them out so they’re easier to use? To give a bit more info it’s because the kids car seats seem almost too big for the back but if we could pull out the bottom bit of the seatbelt it would make things easier. Thanks.
