Has anybody any experience with the NHS health care assistant interview? I have been told it's a tough interview and just looking for any tips if possible. (No experience in health care) worked in a 9-5 the past 10 years.

Thank you

Good luck. Have you got the job and person specification which will tell you what skills they are looking for. They will ask about what would you do if asked to do something you are not trained in', how would you deal with a patient who looks or feels unwell, maybe your understanding of covid. Do you know what department you would be working in.

Well done
I would read up about covid and infection control. What made you decide to change career

Words like communication, honesty, professional are always useful
Make sure you mention consent, supportive, flexible blah blah

I was a HCA before training as a nurse, it was a great experience

Do you work for the NHS?

I have always wanted to work in health care but never took that path, I applied before COVID 19 started
Over the past year or so have seen the care (amazing) that they give(family members been in) and really feel that I could give the care and very compassionate.

Yes I do

@positivethings20 be yourself and with that attitude you will sail through
Good luck, although I'm not sure you're going in at the easiest time
I have so many fond memories of my HCA days

Also don't know how old you are but I went into NHS as a HCA aged 28 and started training at 30, did my MSc at 43 ๐Ÿ˜ฑ
I was a 9-5 admin worker prior to that

Interview is at the end of the month, will let you know how it goes!
Go you, that's fantastic... Bet it was well worth it when you graduated.
Did you do it via uni or could you do via the hospital you worked at? I know that some hospitals do staff nurse apprenticeships.

I'm actually 30 at the end of the month grin
