Please can anyone recommend a good phone for an older person who has never had one and does'nt really want one (but needs it)? Needs loud ring, big easy-to-read buttons and reduced functions. And to be Pay as you go.

I once saw a simple phone with reduced functions (phone home, call dad, emergency) aimed at kids, did anyone ever see that? It was one of those "tomorrow's gadgets" type magazine articles, well I need one NOW!

I took my 62 year old step dad into T-mobile and said

"He needs a mobile that doesn't take photos or videos, have internet access etc. He wants a phone that he can use to simply phone people, or text as last resort"

They were great, got him a pay as you go phone for a tenner, pretty basic, but easy to understand.

Haven't heard of the one you are talking about though, sorry

Could it be this one?

Thanks ! They both sound like an option. I tried to give my mum my old one, but she couldn't cope with the tiny buttons, or the fiddly locking function.

Saltire any idea what make your SD has got? Did he get the hang of it? I really need to get my dad into it but he is actively resistant unlike mum.
