Car seats

Citroen Picasso and rear-facing

I have a Citroen Grand Picasso and am thinking of a rear facing next stage car seat (9kg plus). As my car has pants-a-rama underfloor storage I think I am down to Brio Zento and Britax 2 way Elite (all other suggestions gratefully received - it can't have a support leg). Anyway, I looked at where I would have to put the tether straps and it is not obvious in this car so I am thinking maybe I can't use any rear-facing seat.... Does anyone have a Citroen Grand Picasso and if so, does any rear facing Group 1/2 car seat fit? Thanks.....

hi, the tether straps can go round the seat in front. they feed through the back of the seat where the seat back joins the seat base iykwim. either that or on my last car i had them round a bar underneath the seat, but be careful it's not for adjusting the seat or that you catch wires that are to do with airbags etc!

i can recommend the britax two way elite-it's a great seat and very versatile. is very light to move between cars and if you have to move it frequently then get another set of tether straps to leave in the car.

Hi there and thanks for your reply. The bar on the Picasso is fixed to the floor so nothing can go under. I do know what you mean about placing the straps round the seat part of the front seat as I have seen a video demo of this being done. However, the Picasso has a sort of plastic backing to the seats in front which means that it doesn't look like you can thread anything through..... so I wondered if anyone has actually done it with a Picasso............

yes my scenic had that so it had to go in behind that iykwim. tight to the edges. i would call the in car safety centre and ask for advice. i'm sure if someone has fitted it in you car they would have! either that or if the footprop will reach the bottom of you underfloor storage that could be another option. not sure which ones have the longest prop. ask them that too if you call.

they are in belfast or milton keynes but will give advice over the phone too.
