Hi, looking for a car seat that's lightweight, compact and only needs to do baby until 6 months, any recommendations?

Most of the infant carrier seats will do that. Do you need to stick to a tight budget?

I'd look at

Joie i-Snug
Joie Juva
Maxi Cosi Cabriofix
Britax Babysafe
Cybex Aton B

Also worth noting whether you want it to go onto a pram, whether you want it to belt into the car or use a base so you can just click it in and out (and if so, whether you have isofix or not).

Thanks for your reply, I would use with isofix. I have the cybex cloud z which I used with DD, loved it but found it very heavy and bulky to carry in and out the car and also felt dd looked tiny in it when newborn so looking for a smaller, lightweight seat for the 1st few months

I'm not sure you'll find a seat that fits tiny newborns much better than the Cloud Z - newborns do tend to look miniscule in all car seats because they just are tiny.

The above are all more lightweight though, Cybex Cloud Z is very heavy. I would say of the ones I mentioned, the Juva and Cabriofix aren't the best for newborns so maybe just look at the other three.

Nuna Pipa Lite or Pipa Next is another lightweight one which goes a bit smaller than usual, but I've heard some people complain that newborns end up very scrunched up in it.

Avionaut Pixel (branded Venicci Ultralite in the UK) is another one which I really like for newborns and is lightweight. The positioning for newborns is done a bit differently so do have a look at their website/promo videos which explain it.

Or you could even look at something like Maxi Cosi Jade which is totally lie flat, but they are a lot more bulky. Maxi Cosi Coral might be worth a look, too. That's a hard shell which stays in the car and you can just click the newborn insert in and out of it which is much more lightweight and cocoony.
