Car seat for a 12 month old which is fastened with a seat belt

Hi all I need some advice on a Second car seat for our 12 month old which can be used just with a seat belt as my husband will have to pick up DS from his parents house in his van. Ideally one that is rear facing to start with but can be moved to forward facing. I have a maxi Cosi pebble at the moment with a 2wayfix base and just about to move him on to the pearl, this has to be used with the base so isn’t any good for DHs van. Thanks in advance.

We had the Britax 2Way Elite. It rear faces to around 4/5yo, and can read face in the front seats of vans too.

It comes with a set of tethers but it's worth getting a second set as the tethers being fitted is the only fiddly bit - this way he can keep a set fitted in his van and then another set can be fitted in the family car. The seat itself is incredibly easy to switch between cars.

We got ours from the In Car Safety Centre who are very helpful over the phone at giving suggestions and advice.

I would recommend joining Car Seat advice U.K. on Facebook. Then search for the type of van your husband drives and see what other people have fitted.

I would suspect that the Joie Stages and the Britax Two Way Elite will be the most common in vans.

I've been looking at similar for occasional use in my car and settled on the Joie Tilt but could equally have gone for Steadi (thought the stages might be too big). However having looked at DD in her bay seat today she has loads of height room left and is nowhere near 13kg at 14 months so I needn't have rushed 😂

Joie Stages/Steadi/Tilt would be a good choice although I'd check the fitting before you buy if you can.

Agree two way elite is a good choice if you want to rear face as long as possible.
