Car seats

Honda Jazz 2006

I spontaneously bought a JOIE 360 car seat, was very excited when it arrived, only to discover that it's not compatible with my 2006 Honda Jazz 😩

After having a bit of a hunt on the internet I'm slightly flummoxed as to what car seat would potentially fit it... I'm currently using a seat that's fitted with a belt... I was hoping to get an isofix base and ideally a rotating one (but haven't got a massive budget)

Has anyone got any experience with car seats and an older model Jazz? Any help would be much appreciated!!

Which seat are you currently using (that’s fitted with a belt)? And how old is DC?

Generally with rear facing seats it’s easier to get the child in as you don’t have to open the door as wide given that it faces backwards.

The 25kg seats would be good to look at as they tend to be more compact. Although if your car has more sloped seats then isofix won’t necessarily be the best option as it can be more rigid.

Car seats such as the Axkid MiniKid, Axkid Move, Britax Two Way Elite and Britax MaxWay are good ones to have a look at if you want to continue to rear face. Joie Tilt and Stages are also good when used rear facing, although the seatbelt can block entry which some people find to be a problem

When you say it's not compatible do you mean you can't achieve a correct fit or it's just not on the fitting list?

If you have a particularly tricky vehicle, the best thing to do is to get several seats tried out in your car to see what gives the best fit.

I would go to a specialist if you can, here's a good list :)

If you don't have a store near you from that list, try this:

Anyone who stocks Axkid will have a decent selection of good quality seats.

If no luck try this, as Britax are another great brand (but a bit more widely sold):

Preferably an independent rather than a chain, but a chain is better than nothing if that's all you've got. :)
