Halfords car seat

Hi hoping someone can help, my nearly 10mo dd has the Halfords Group 0/1/2 Child Car Seat 230281. In the instructions it states group 0 is up to 10 months, group 1 is from 9 months, so I will have to change to group 1 soon, but group 1 is forward facing and I'm not okay with that.

Anyone know if it's safe to keep her rear facing or if I have to buy a new seat? I've looked online and no answers, I'll ask in store if no help here.
Thank you.

How much does she weigh? Instructions on that seat say rear facing until 10kg. Don’t worry about her age, it’s the weight that counts.

Thanks @Orangedaisy I will be buying her an extended rear facing one. I know what the law says, but it's much safe to rf for longer Smile

That seat has a rear facing limit of 10kg. The age doesn't matter, but her weight does. If she is under 10kg, you can keep her rear facing until she is. If she weighs more, she must be forward facing in that seat, which as you correctly state is risky at her age. I would get another seat, personally, because I don't rate the performance of that seat when forward facing, even for an older child. In rear facing it's likely OK, but definitely not if she's over the weight limit for it.

If you're in need of an inexpensive rear facing seat, look at the Joie range, which Halfords also stock. If you can afford to spend a bit more, you might want to check your nearest of these to get the longest lasting/best rear facing seat you can for your budget - you have a choice of rear facing to 13kg (average age 2), 18kg (average age 4) or even 25kg (average age 6) - ages +/- 25% if you have a child over the 90th or under 10th centile for weight and/or height. :) www.carseatadvice-uk.com/specialist-retailers.html

But a new seat. I would also recommend the Joie range, we have the 360 which is great.

The weight limits what matters, the age is a guideline.. obviously one 10month old might weigh the 10kgs but the next might not.

We’ve got the joie every stage (I think) it rear faces until 18kgs it’s on offer on online4baby too. DS done one 10minute journey forward facing at 10months, shoot me the car seat wouldn’t fit rear facing and I physically couldn’t walk further, and he really didn’t look safe or comfortable he fell forward falling asleep n that freaked me out with them breathing ok. He was over the weight for stage 1 and he’s not a dainty baby.
