Old car! Group 1 car seat recommendations? Thanks(4 Posts)
Hi all! We have a ford mondeo estate, 56 plate, with Isofix and leather seats. Our tobi fix, that generally goes in my car and is belted in as I don’t have iso fix, isn’t a great fit in the mondeo- it tilts a bit! Looking for an isofix group 1 seat but a lot of the fitting guides don’t have a mondeo estate of our age to check against!
Has anyone got one and can recommend a car seat please? Is a bit of a nightmare.
Thank you! X
I don't have this car I'm afraid, but best thing to do would be to go to a shop that has various different car seats for sale and try some out. You could try isofix and seatbelt fitted. I'd look for an independent nursery specialist first, and if you can't find one Halfords or Smyths both have a range of car seats. John Lewis and Mamas and Papas might be worth a try too.
This would be a good way to find if there are any independent nursery specialists near you:
Just look for any name in there which isn't a chain.
Argos and Supermarkets generally a bad idea for car seats as their staff won't be trained to assess the fit of them. Then the independents are generally better than chain stores, but if you do go to a chain store, it's a good idea to phone first and ask when their trained car seat fitter is available.
Have a look at car seat advice uk Facebook group. Lots of useful info on there.
