Joie I-level, I-gemm or I-snugg

Hello, would anyone be able to recommend which is these Joie car seats to go for? I like the that the I-level lies flat but is it much heavier than the average car seat? I know the I-snug is the lightest of them but the I-Gemm seems to offer a bit more protection.

There’s just so much to consider so if anyone could help that would be great :) thanks

We had the I-gemm and ended up taking it back. It pushed my daughters head forward so her chin was on her chest. Ended up changing it for a Maxi Cosi Pebble Plus which is so much better x

I tried all sorts of ways to fix it but didn't have any luck. Even the staff in Mothercare said she didn't look right in it. Here's a pic x

The i-level is a bit heavier than an average infant carrier, but isn't as heavy as the Cybex Cloud (hilariously inaptly named there). I agree the i-Gemm isn't particularly good for infant padding/positioning, although it's known to be quite long lasting. The i-Snug is quite a basic seat and the main selling point is the low weight and price. It also has a lower height limit (75cm whereas the other two Joie seats are 85cm) which means it will be outgrown faster than the others.

One which has a nice straight line for a newborn which isn't particularly well known is the Venicci Ultralite, which is also a really lightweight seat. I think it's brilliant. The seat + base is quite pricey, especially compared to Joie seats, but cheaper than Maxi-Cosi which is the most popular brand. You can also belt fit the seat and avoid buying a base if you prefer.

Is there a reason you've restricted yourself to Joie as a brand? If it's to do with compatability on a pushchair, you might not be aware that the adaptors for these Joie seats are identical to the adaptors for Maxi-cosi, meaning you can use any Maxi-Cosi, Cybex, Nuna, Kiddy or Besafe infant car seat as well as the Venicci I mentioned and the Joie seats you've mentioned.

Yes the reason I’ve gone for Joie it because its the brand of the pram and I didn’t realise about the adaptors. We’ve now ordered the travel system so hoping we get on okay with the seat we’ve chosen 🤞
