Hi, I'm after some advice for someone who has a Citroen C1. My mum has this car, doesn't drive my DS often so no isofix and not going to buy one (drives him once in a blue moon). He's just growing out his newborn car seat and I'm looking for a stage 1 car seat for him for this car. It seems that the Britax Roamer 123 might fit, but not sure? Any advice, or experience? Thanks.

Why no isofix does the car not have it ?

There are cheaper group 1,2,3 type seats which are also isofix so a lot safer

I can't find any that fit with an isofix base. Its such a small car, and used for DS so rarely that I'm a bit of a loss as to what to get him. I dont want to buy something under tested just because its cheap. I'm just a bit lost and have no specialist car seat type places near me (Just mothercare, Halfords etc and dont hold much hope for them).

We have one of these in graphite ( dark grey) Fits in the back of a 3 door Renault Clio and is iso-fix but needs a rear tether so you won't be able to use it in the front seat, must be in the back. The rear tether is a slot on the rear of the back car seats ( in the boot) Can be used from 9kg I believe, but do check. It is only front facing.

What height and weight centile is he following? You could look into the Joie Tilt which rear faces but it isn't a huge seat so will be outgrown before 4. Otherwise the Joie Stages is a very good option, but slightly more expensive.

Rear facing is still far safer, even if it is only occasional journeys.

I would rather he RF as he will in our car (2way pearl) but reading a forum seemed to suggest that there isn't enough room to tilt them back if RF as required. It's such a nightmare. Think we will just insure her on our car and vice versa and swap on those days

I have the joie 360 spin the the back of a 107 (so same size) also had a maxicosi axiss and a recaro sport

Have you looked in 'Car Seat Advice Uk' on Facebook? Plenty of people have used the Britax Two Way Elite and Joie seats (Stages and Tilt) in a C1. They can also be fitted in the front seat providing the airbag is turned off.

Thanks for the Facebook page tip. Will definitely have a look. And thanks Frog, reassuring to know i have more options than I thought!

I think we had a britax first class and a britax evolva 123 at one point too smile

Joie is usually a good bet if you're looking for cheap but safe. Britax also have a good price to safety ratio. I'd look into those two brands.

Dont know if you are still looking but we have a peugeot 107..same car but different branding basically.. and it has isofix. We have a maxi cosi 2 way pearl and it fits just fine rear facing..my husband is over 6ft but can fit into passenger side with it on the back seat that side or for longer journeys I can move it to my side and I can drive and it fits behind me no problems.
