Audi s line

Can anyone recommend a car seat to fit an Audi A3 s line? So many seats don’t fit and the car seat manufacturers only list standard model cars. Any help would be much appreciated x

Don’t have one personally but a family member does and we had no issue fitting a basic maxi cosi infant carrier with the seatbelt.

Do you want an infant carrier or a group 1 seat?

The fit lists aren't comprehensive (they're just her seats that the manufacturer has tested) so just because a seat isn't on there, doesn't mean it doesn't fit. Best option would be to go to an independent car seat specialist (not Halfords, John Lewis or other high street shops)

You're probably going to need a belted seat rather than isofix which is fine for an infant carrier. If you're looking at group 1 seats, look at the Joie rear facing seats or the 25kg seats like the Britax Two Way Elite or the Axkid Minikid because they're very universal fitting.

Thank you. Sorry I’ve not used these forums before I should have given more detail - it’s a stage 1/2/3 we’re looking for, our little one is 1 and just about grown out of his first seat.

Rear facing is still the safest option for a long time yet (until at least age 4). Do you know which centile he's following for weight and height? If he's above the 50th centile, you would be better looking at the 25kg seats that I mentioned (Axkid Minikid is amazing, Britax Two Way Elite is cheaper but a good option). If he's around 50th or below, you could get away with an 18kg seat like the Joie Stages.

We had an A6 S-Line and I had a Maxi-Cosi Pebble and then the Maxi-Cosi 2 Way Pearl, I can't remember what the base was but it was the same base for both.

As an aside it was a pain in the arse getting a child in and out and he hit his head more times than I care to remember!

We had an A4 Avant SLine which fitted a MaxiCosi Cabriofix with isofix base then a Maxi Cosi Tobi and now we have an A3 SLine which has a Cybex Solution Q2 fix in.
Most Audis have isofix, what is it about the SLine that doesn't fit the seats you want?

Thank you for all the advice.

Weve been to Halfords and the only one that fits is the maxi cosi pearl. They advised that the back seats are a different shape to standard Audi’s so although the majority of seats will fasten in they’re not actually secure enough as too much of the car seat isn’t sitting flush with the vehicle seats.

Do bear in mind that Halfords don't have the best reputation for car seat advice (although you might have got a good one!) and they can only advise on the seats they sell because that's all they've had information on.

I've checked on that Facebook group and people have recommended the Axkid Minikid, Britax Two Way Elite and Britax Max Way as a good fit for your car so so you're certainly not limited to the Pearl (hope it was the 2 way Pearl because he's very young for Halfords to have recommended a forward facing seat).

I took my Audi to Kiddicare and they fitted it, I had the same deep racing type seats. Halfords aren't great, they would only fit a Tobi in my Discovery, simply because they didn't have a wide range to try.
