Britax Romer Dualfix advice - toddler too tall at 2?!

We bought a Britax Romer Dualfix for my 2nd son, with the intention of keeping him rearfacing until around age 4. He’s currently 2.5 and his head is level with the top of the headrest, and it won’t extend any further! He’s not particularly tall, I’ve not measured him for ages but compared to most children his age he seems to be on the small, slim side - he’s still in 18-24 month clothes. I can’t see how it can possibly be safe for the top of his head to be above the head rest, but the seats are advertised as suitable to stay rear facing until 18kg/4 years old! Does anyone own one of these seats, or have any advice on this? I don’t really want to have to replace it, as it wasn’t cheap!

It's not outgrown until his ears are at the top of the headrest or until he no longer fits under the shoulder straps.

Unfortunately the Dualfix has a very short shell so it's unlikely to get most kids even close to 4. It might go to 18kg but most kids will outgrow it by height long before then.

Thanks for the reply. That’s really annoying, but at least we do still have some growing room for now.
