So we need two new car seats - one for our 4 year old (she's finally hit 15kg) and one for our 18mth old.

There's so much choice and things to consider, I don't know where to start!

The preference is isofix for both but I'm open to all suggestions!

Grateful to hear any recommendations!

Check out this article on Independent > www.independent.co.uk/extras/indybest/kids/travel/best-car-seats-infants-toddlers-4-3-1-year-olds-from-birth-reviews-uk-8605182.html

This might help you in deciding. Maxi Cosi from Mothercare is something I would recommend.

For the 18mo, I suggest you get a rear-facing car seat that she can use until she is at least 4, because rear-facing seats are five times safer in the event of an accident.

Isofix is useful if you have to move the car seats frequently, because it's obviously easier to fit than a belted seat, but it's no safer than a properly fitted belted seat. Isofix seats also have a weight limit of 18kg so you won't find a suitable one for your 4 year old.

There is a Facebook group called "Car seat Advice for mummies and daddies", terrible name but there is loads of useful advice if you join.

I have a Graco milestones and love it. So easy to fit and suitable from birth to 12 years - I use it daily for my 3 year old but have also used it on other occasions for my 7 month old nephew and 4 year old niece. Unfortunately not isofix though x

I'd try visiting/calling the in car safety centre, they know their stuff and can guide you to the right seats for your particular child/car.

Does your four year old definitely need a new one? It'll depend on her height probably as 15kg is well below the weight limits for most toddler seats. My 2 year old is over 16kg and sits in a maxi cosi axissfix with a limit of 18.5kg and a Nuna rebl limit 19kg I think.
