I am planning on getting a 360 degree swivel group 0/1 car seat for my huge 6month old.

Looked at Joie360, Brittax Dualfix, Nuna Rebl but prefer Sirona or Axissfix.

Does anyone have a Sirona or Axissfix as I'm thinking about one of these?

Questions:

Does your baby's head slouch forward when they fall asleep even on full recline and is this forward or rearward facing?

Whats the impact bar rather than harness like on the Sirona?

Anyone with long babies have any concerns with these seats???

Thank you sooooooo much!!!!Smile

My DS is long. We moved to the axis fix at about 10 months. We really like it. He forward faces now (he's over 2) and the recline isn't all that notable so his head does slump forward a bit. Recline was much better when rear facing, which is the concern when you're moving into a new seat at a relatively early age. I don't remember his head falling forward when sleeping when rear facing. Really recommend the maxi cosi. Didn't like the sirona when we looked at it (can't really remember why - maybe the impact bar)

Axissfix only rear faces to 13kg.

Joie is supposed to be good for tall babies, sirona has a small shell.

Love the cybex. Not needed to use the forward facing option and still delighted with it 2.5 years on! No head slumping, no problems with height yet either.

Thanks Helenfagain...yes that is a limitstion of the axissfix for sure!...when i tried baby in both..the cybex didn't seem short but the reviews suggest it is don't they?...hmmmm

Thats good to know diamond&pears...what centile is your girl/boy on so i can work out height/weight difference when mine is 2.5years? Thanks!!!!

Just to add we had the old nuna Rebl but returned it for a refund when the crash test results came out. My son is very large (over 99th centile height and weight) so we decided to buy a 25kg rear facing seat without a swivel to keep him rear facing till at least 4. We got the Axkid minikid and it's fab, don't miss the swivel at all. Nuna did us a favour as we would have had to replace when he is just over 2 as he'd have been over the limit for the seat.

Hi Helenfagain..what age was yours when they went into that seat? Is it hard work lifting in and out on your back without swivel? Especially 99th centile! Hehe

He was about 16/17 months when he went into minikid. The sides are really low so it's really easy to get him in.

Thank you Helenfagain. I think with my boy on 99th centiles...he will outgrow any group1 car seat by about 2.5/3years but as he is only 6months he is too small for a group2 seat so i might just need to buy twice?!!! Hmm

Minikid isn't a standard seat, rear faces from 9 to 25kg (should last till around 4). If I'd had any sense I'd have bought one as soon as he's outgrown his infant carrier instead of the nuna, was just lucky to get a refund. Another option is Britax TWE which can rear or forward face to 25kg, Diono radian v which can rear or forward face till 25kg (but takes up lots of room). They recommend a harness till at least age 4 as their bones aren't strong enough for a standard seat belt till then.

Oooh the minikid would definitely last longer but does it recline? Im worried it looks very upright and head will.slump.forward when asleep?

Minikid had 5 recline settings and you can also buy a wedge to recline it further if you have sloped seats or need a bigger recline.

This is a pic of the wedge.
