Best car/car seat.. Help!!

I've recently bought my travel system, it's the graco fast action fold sport system (on asda at £75, I love a bargain!)
My only issue is the car seat. I drive a 2000 Toyota Landcruiser but I'm looking to swap it for something a touch smaller and newer as I want the reliability when baby is in it.
Can anyone recommend a car that is easy to get a car seat in and out of and is compatible with my seat?
Or if anyone has an older car, how safe does your seat feel without the Isofix base? I can't get one to fit my car I don't think, I don't know if I'd need it to make baby safe.
I'm a complete novice to all of this, so if anyone can offer any advice then please do. I just want the peace of mind that baby will be safe in her seat and my car when I go anywhere.
