Group 2/3 car seat for broad child

DD is getting towards the height limit for her group 1 seat and so I've started looking into the next stage seats. We've always had maxi cosi seats so far (pebble then 2 way pearl and tobi) so no real experience with other brands.

DD is very big built, tall for her age but VERY broad across her chest, back and shoulders. She measures as needing age 5-6 tops at nearly 3 and as most of this is her bone structure rather than fat I can see her continuing to be large for her age.

Does anyone have any experience or recommendations of group 2/3 car seats that are highly rated for safety but won't be uncomfortable for a larger child?

At nearly 3 she's not ready for a high backed booster, you need to be looking at seats with a 25kgs harness limit (Britax Two Way Elite, Britax Advansafix, Diono Radian 5 and Cosy n Safe Excalibur are your only choices).

This is some reasoning behind why a child needs to be at least 4 before they use a high backed booster.

Thanks Alice, that's really helpful. I didn't realise there were seats that could keep a 5 point harness for that much longer. I hate the thought of moving her up to something too early just because she's so big. Hopefully those will fit in our cars!

There is more choice still if you want rear facing, but I just assumed forward facing. Plenty of people have turned their 2 and 3 year olds back to rear facing, just thought I'd mention it in case none of the seats I listed are suitable for your car. The Britax Two Way Elite and the Diono Radian 5 can be rear facing or forward anyway.
