Hi all! I'll be posting this on a few topics as need to buy a car seat by the weekend so as many opinions as possible would be great!
Basically my DD is a big 5 month old (18lbs) and she's rapidly outgrowing the car seat she has now, her shoulders are getting squished and her movement is restricted, we're travelling a total of 4 hours on Saturday and want her to be as comfortable as possible as she used to love car journeys but recently has been getting restless. I'll be keeping her rear facing for as long as possible but ideally I'd like something that can be altered to her size as she grows and be a rear facing or forward facing seat as required! Money isn't an issue when it comes to her safety so can anyone recommend a car seat they've found the safest and most comfortable? Thankyou!Smile

My DS is very comfortable in his besafe izi kid i size. We got it at 6 months when he was no longer happy in his infant carrier. At her centile though she'll get to 18kg before age 4 so maybe look at the besafe plus? I wish I had bought the plus just because it will last longer than the isofix version.

If she's only 18lbs and you want a larger seat you'll need something which covers both group 0 and group 1, as she isn't quite in the group 1 bracket yet (that's 20lbs or 9kg). Or you could go for an i-size seat. (Both the seats that captaincake recommended would work.)

Are you near to the In Car Safety Centre at all? I think there are a couple around the country. The absolute most important thing, especially with those bigger ERF seats is fit in your car. So it's a good idea to try a few seats out if you have the option.

We've got the Nuna Rebl. Not cheap (£395 In Mothercare) but We didn't want to scrimp on dd's car seat. She's 6 months now and she loves it, she's quite high up and loves looking out of the window!

It's birth - 4 years I believe. And it's I-size so rear facing till a minimum of 15 months, but can read face until they outgrow it if you wish.

It comes with various head inserts, wedges etc that you remove as they get older. I'll try and attach the insert guide I got from Nuna, it doesn't come with this guide and I was confused about when to start removing some of the padding.
