Anyone have Skoda Octavia Estate with BeSafe Izi Kid?

My DH has to have a company car with his new role and we already have two BeSafe izi Kid isofix rear facing seats which we have been very pleased with. The only car on the list he can choose from we think they will fit in is the Skoda Octavia estate. Does anyone have this combination and have one behind the drivers seat? Does it push them too far forward and restrict the drivers leg room?

There is also a VW Golf estate on there but I assume the wheel base is the same as a Golf?

Hi I've fitted a Besafe izi combi isofix in a Skoda Fabia so I think you should be fine with an Octavia.

Worth going to a dealer and pretending to buy and check? I'd go and check out golf estate too. Someone's estates have slightly different space. A Peugeot 307 is not the same as the estate.

Thanks sockmatcher, was that behind the driver or passenger?

The VW website is good for giving the measurements of the length between the back and the front seats, not so good on the Skoda site. DH thinks it is in between a golf and a passat.

Yes I think I need to call one of the car seat places. Not sure we have a Skoda dealer near us, must have a search...

It was the passengers side but drivers side would have been OK too.

Not the same car or seat but my friend has a vw passat estate (new shape) and has a Britax two way elite behind the driver seat. She has heaps of room and was able to keep her seat in her normal driving position. She is 5ft 7ish and likes to be quite far back when she drives.
I think the Octavia is quite similar in size so imagine there would be room for your seat without causing to much disruption to the driver.

Well found a Skoda dealer and had a sit in the Octavia estate and hauled our izi kid into the back seat and pleased to report for anyone else looking it fits! My DH and I are both average height and could sit comfortably in the drivers seat with the chair behind us in the most reclined position. I think the Octavia has slightly increased in length from the previous model as well. Boot is very spacious I have to say too.

FYI the next estate size up (Skoda Superb) is huge, would actually be too roomy in the back, as with the rear facing seats the passenger/drivers seat needs to be touching the back of the carseat, I wouldn't have been able to reach the pedals!
