Car seats

Cybex, Britax or Maxi Cosi 2 Way Pearl?

Hello,

I'm looking to get a next stage car seat for my long and fairly chunky 9 month old baby, I was thinking about either the Cybex Sirona Combination, Britax Dualfix Combination, Maxi cosi 2 way pearl, as I would like to keep him rear facing for a wee bit longer. Out of the three of these car seats, which would other Mum's recommend?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

All best X

We looked at all three and went for the britax in the end. Hard to compare as we haven't actually used the other two but we are very happy with the britax dual fix! We kept her rear facing until 18 months but then swapped round as she used to get really distressed but really glad we didn't do it earlier.

We bought the Cybex Sirona. We are delighted with it. Still RF at 27 months.

Thank you so much for your replies! That's good to know that you've had good experiences with two of them. I have never asked anything on Mumsnet before and should have been asking you guys all the questions I had at the beginning! Thank you so much ?? x

Dualfix for us. I liked the way it twisted to face the door for ease of getting dc out.

Hi guys, we went into Mothercare the other week, and they said we still had time before we changed seats. I've seen on their site they have a Britax Max Fit 2 for sale, and I wondered whether any of you had experience with this seat? Not sure if it is rear facing, but think it might be. Hope you've all had a lovely Xmas with your wee ones! All best x

We have just purchased the Cybex Sirona ... for us there were so many good reviews that we thought this would be the best option, but the maxi cosi has good reviews too.

We went to kiddicare and they had completely sold out as had mother care. we ended up just searching it and finding it on a site that we had never heard off but rang them and they had the brand new ones in stock and in the black sea colour we wanted.

Cybex sirona here but, like PP, haven't tried the others. Very happy with it. Wanted rear facing until 4.

If you want to keep lo rear facing for as long as possible there are seats that will allow you to go this until 25kg. Worth a thought maybe as the ones you have listed only last until 18kg.

Britax maxway and two way elite are both popular seats and approx £220 so wouldn't break the bank either. There are many more though, in car safety centre and securatot both stock a good range.

Agree with above poster none of those seats are big. If you have a chunky or tall baby get an axkid or TWE.

The above shows how good they are. She's a good retailer too and much more informed than mothercare.
