Car seats

Group 2-3 car seat recommendations please

We would like to move DD up from her Britax 2 way Elite (RF) to a FF seat when our baby arrives. She is 4 and about the size of an average 5 year old, so no worries about FF. Plus we won't be able to get her seat to RF as well as the baby's. I would prefer to get her next seat, rather than turning her 2 way elite round.

Can anyone recommend a group 2/3 seat which is comfy and easy to use? We have Isofix, if that makes any difference. Anything pink would be a bonus.

Thanks!

Have a look at the Britax high backed boosters. I have a KidFix one in a plum colour with an owl on it, we've probably had it about 18 months but I think they still do that colour.

I don't think ISOFIX makes a massive amount of difference to these seats, but the advantage of having the car seat attached to the car is that you don't have to remember to fasten the seatbelt over the empty seat if you are ever driving without your DD.

I could try and have a look on Which? later on. I don't take any notice of their stance on ERF seats (my DD2s Britax Multi Tech II is a 'Don't Buy') but their reviews of other seats generally make more sense!

We've got a Which subscription so I can look it up. Interesting point about driving around without DD as we both do that a lot and it would be galling to damage a lose car seat by breaking hard.

I have a three year old in a TWE and will be looking for the next seat when she turns four (amd DS needs the TWE) so thanks for starting this thread - will watch intently.

Will probably go for something from Britax, as they seem quite robust and seem to look bigger so will last til eleven or whenever it is they need to be in one til.

I have DS forward facing in a two way elite in my car (no isofix) and I have a britax advansafix in my parents car, its great - 5 point harness until 26kg and then can be used with the seatbelt for an older child, up to 36kg i think. Its a wonderful seat and I can't wait until I have a car with isofix to use it.

A non Isofix seat won't just get damaged in an incident, it could well injure you/other passengers if not secured, it's quite a big projectile and would be a lot heavier than it's actual weight in even a low speed bump.
It is a PITA to remember to secure the seat when unoccupied, so Isofix does help in that respect.

No pink but there is a 'dark grape'

The Advansafix looks really good. Which don't seem to have reviewed it yet and I bet they would say that it is too hard to install due to the top tether - they seem not to like ERF for that reason. DD would like the Zebra print option. DH would like her to still have a 5 point harness, though I quite like the idea of her being able to strap herself in (under supervision).

The Which Best Buys which have caught my eye are:
britax kidfix xp sict
kiddy cruiserfix pro
Recaro Monza Nova 2 Seatfix

I think Isofix is the way to go for us as we will just buy a seat for each car and can leave them installed without having to worry about strapping the seat in each time.

Yes, dark grape is the one I have with an owl on it.

Hi,

We have the Kiddy Cruiserfix pro for DS who will be 4 in February. We haven't used it much at the moment as we mainly use the other car but I have been impressed with it.

It seems solidly built, has good adjustment and side impact protection and wasn't too heavy to lift if I'm remembering correctly.

We'll need another grp 2/3 seat shortly and I'll either get another one of these or the Cybex solution q fix which I also like the look of.
