Wriggling out of care seat - no matter how tight the straps!! Isofix Duo Plus

My DC (2years 2 mo) is in a Britax Isofix Duo Plus and no matter how much we tighten the shoulder straps and no matter what clothes she is wearing, she can wriggle out and ends up leaning forward examining the back of the passenger seat Shock. This is particulary likely to happen when she has got a bit past it tiredness wise and starts fidgeting. (also likes to fiddle with electric window control and door opener). Has anyone got an ideas or advice please on how to rectify this? My DS had the same care seat and we never had such issues. I am worried about the obvious safety implications.. Thanks.

Could you get a rear facing seat? There are a few that last until 4yo now and then if she wriggles out the top straps it's not so dangerous?

The only occasions mine have escaped the 5 point harness has been when the shoulder straps are too low. Is it worth checking the height if theya re adjustable?

Google Houdini straps, they stop them escaping.

You can get something to fit around the straps so they can't get their arms through, it's called a 5 Point Plus. £22.50 from Amazon.
There is also a clip called a Houdini stop, but I've read it's not approved for use in Britain, but it's cheaper.

How well-built is your DD? My DD2 is 2 years 2 months too, and I'm certain that she could escape from any car seat if she wanted to because she is so slight. She has a Britax ERF seat, and it have caught her a couple of times recently sitting with her hands under the harness straps - it's only a matter of time before she realises that if she pushes her hands a bit further she'll be able to get her arms out. I do the straps as tight as I can, but she's so narrow I think she'd get out whatever I tried.

My DD2 (2yrs 3mths) does exactly the same in the DuoPlus. Ditto all the fiddling too. Think I will have to give that 5 point plus strap a go.

We had this phase. Just went absolutely mental at him every time he did. He stopped after about a month.
