Hi.

I need to fit 3 group 2/3 high-backed boosters in the back of my VW Touran. (Yes there are a couple of seats in the third row, but I need the boot space, so not looking at that option).

It was fine with the narrower group 0/1 seats.

But the problem with the group 2/3 seats. Our Touran has outer seats that are 45cm wide and the middle seat is 43cm wide. And all the group 2/3 boosters seem to be +49cm wide. I have found a couple that are 46 cm, but still, this is too wide. I don't want to use a booster without a back... too unsafe.

I can't be the only person in the world to have encountered this problem!

Can you please tell if you or anyone you know has a managed to squeeze 3 high-backed boosters into their middle row. And if they have, which brands?

Thx!!!

Hi,
The Britax Adventure HBB is officially (according to the Britax website) 43cm wide. I remember measuring mine for someone (could have been a thread on here, or possibly on the ERF board at Babycentre) and i got it to be 42cm at all it's widest parts, so it's definitely not anything more than 43cm.
I have two in my car (Peugeot 5098, equivalent to the Touran) and it's easy to reach the seatbelt buckles. Three would definitely fit in my car, but the middle row of seats are all the same width.
Do your seats slide individually? Sometimes it's easier to fit 3 child seats with the middle seat slightly forward. I used to do this with our old Renault Scenic (2005 plate) which had a narrower middle seat.
Hope this helps!

Jane Monte Carlo is 40cm I think if you don't turn any of the dials to spread the side bits out. I thought the hauck bodyguard was similar but now I look again it seems to be either 43 or 49. We have an adventure and a graco Jr maxi too, the graco is 41 but has less SIP around the body, the headrests are similar.

My mum has the Graco Junior Maxi for her car, and the base is wider than my Adventure. Also, it has 'sticky out bits' by the child's hips (don't know the technical term!) that would really get in the way of you reaching the seatbelt buckles. The Adventure doesn't have these. I can't use the Graco in my car, it's too wide and covers the buckles (they are recessed into the seats).

Weird, the graco physically fits in our car next to the two other seats where the adventure doesn't, you can't close the door. Belt access is indeed a pain with the graco.
