From reading the boards I thought Britax first class was ERF - but when I look at the details its a combination seat? Is there a decent ERF seat that isn't combination?

We have the Britax max Way and it's brilliant, attaches to the seat in front as well as the rear seat and feels so secure and stable. My dad has the first class in his car for when we visit and it's nowhere near as secure.

Galway - how does that work if you have to move the seat in front? We need to buy seats for our twins so one will have to be behind driver seat which we move back and forward depending on whose driving.

In car have recommended a klippan isofix one which is £399 so that's £800 for two!!

You would need to adjust the tethers each time.

Ah ok. Is adjusting the tethers easy to do or is it a faff?

Britax maxway £299, in the NW the stockist will price match. Anyone seen this cheaper elsewhere?

britax multi tech is available from volvo part dept for £250 (make sure they only charge the 5% vat if you are quoted more) and will last longer than the maxway

cant imagine the tethers being difficult to adjust each time. Look at the fitting video and see if its the final step.

Yip I think I meet that criteria, no idea what tethers are but I'll worry about that later. Off to find nearest volvo dealer (Oh i'd love a volvo). Thanks all :)

I contacted Volvo dealer to check if I can get 'Volvo badged' car seat which is same as the Britax one, the answer was no Shock. They would do only if you have a Volvo car. Disappointing Angry Angry

They are wrong. Loads of People have done it! Did you speak to parts department?

Report
sshi · 31/01/2013 07:09

yes they transferred my call to the parts department . The person on the line said they receive many calls about it and this incorrect information is floating on internet. I didn't argue though.
I have Renault Megane Scenic . My little one is just over 9 kg and doesn't fit in his group 0 Cybex car seat.

Ok, so I called another Volvo dealer to cross check the information. I was told that we can buy it but they can't guarantee if the car seat would fit in our Renault. It would cost around £200 and we can't return or get refund if it doesn't fit. In a nutshell if we are 100% sure it would fit in our car we can buy it.
Two different responses from the same company. Strange!!

most people check fitting with a britax retailer that stock it and then go to volvo - its £250 including 5% vat

Thanks ladies. I'm also interested in Britax 2 way Elite. Looks it will easily fit in our car and not so expensive compared to other RF seats. Will call Milton Keynes dealer tomorrow.
Would like to hear others' thoughts/experience on TWE?

I've got an appointment in Milton Keynes on Saturday to buy 2 ERF seats - will report back on anything useful!

Well we went for the cybex serona - wanted something compact as we have twins and we didn't really have much choice as when my DH drives the car he has the drivers seat pushed right back whereas I have it right forward so couldn't have a seat-toucher. It is on the small side but so are my babies Grin and I love that it swivels and reclines. DTs have been asleep in them for past hour so must be comfortable

Mega mega expensive though - at least they gave me 10% off for buying two.

Thanks for sharing your experience ceeveebee. I looked at Cybex Serona really lovely car seat :) I think TWE would be the better one for us as I'm not very tall and can sit comfortably even if I recline the seat also our budget is £250 max so it would tick that box as well. Hope your kiddos enjoy their new car seats Smile
