Rear facing seat - Focus Estate

Hi.

I'm expecting our first child at the end of may.

We have just bought a 2007 focus estate as part of our preparations for transporting baby and dog and having spoken with friends last night am worried about not being able to fit a rear facing seat into the rear of a focus estate as this can be a common problem apparently?

Does anyone have this model of car, or any directions for a resource to match seats for specific car models? In a slight panic that we may have just bought the wrong car...

Many thanks

Becca

A friend of ours has a 56 plate Focus estate. They have the Maxi Cosi Cabriofix with the belted base (easybase 2?) They have also fitted it in without the base. I have also had my Britax babysafe in their with the isofix base which fitted fine.

We have the 02 version and everything i've fitted in it has gone in fine (I'm a child seat fitter/trainer so have tried A LOT of seats!)

My cousin & partner have an 07 focus estate and have just had a baby girl :) They have the Maxi Cosi Cabrio with the Easyfix base. Their car didn't come with ISOfix but they got it installed (about £70), but the Maxi Cosi Easyfix/Easybase when fitted with the seatbelt also goes in a treat :)

Do you mean a Group 1 rearfacing seat? Infant seats fit fine. I think it can be a bit more tricky to fit extended rearfacing seats, but I've found a Britax 2 Way Elite can go in on, albeit there's not a huge amount of leg room for the person sitting in front of it.

Britax first class that you use from birth to 4yrs, it swaps from rear to front facing, v sturdy and reclinesreally well. fitrs in our focus fine.

Thank you all. A relief to know we've not just bought a car that is completely baby unfriendly! Choosing and finding the car was enough of an ordeal without having to do it again. Now to buy the car seat!
