How do you stop a 26 month old escaping from their car seat?

Our 26 mo DS is an escape artiste! He manages to slip the straps of his 5 point harness off his shoulders, and pull his arms free on car journeys. As soon as he's done this we stop and sort him out, and tell him not to do it again. However, he thinks it is hilarious. It is just plain dangerous, but he doesn't understand. I've scoured the internet for some sort of product that will prevent him doing this but can't find anything.

Does anyone know if there is something you can buy to prevent him slipping his arms out, but which doesn't interfere with the seatbelt use if there was an accident? (I know you can get something to cover the release button, and I'm sure we will probably need one of those soon.)

Thanks Bertie. That could be the answer. I'm fed up with screeching to a halt half a dozen times on a car journey just to put DS back in his seatbelt!
