Anyone got a Outwell Montana 6 and do you like the tent?

Any Good or Bad comments are welcome

I Really like the look of this tent and we are seriously considering buying one but as it costs way more than we usually spend on a tent, would like to know any downsides to the tent to.

Its a well constructed tent and the porch is useful, but is heavy and was too big for us (only 3of us). Ours stood up to v strong winds in Pembrokeshire even though it's high..

It would depend on how many there are of you
and age of DC's and also what sort of camping you do. We worked out we would probably pnly be doing long weekends/festivals last year and it was too big/heavy for that so got a smaller lighter tent.

Fantastic tent! Tons of space, carpets great. Got the canopy on the front too which is perfect for cooking under. Good living area and fine for me,dh and dc (x2) to sleep in. Footprint groundsheet is also a great idea.

The only downside is the poles. The new version for this year has upgraded poles. On our version, the poles can fit together incorrectly which can make it a pain to put up.
It defo takes two people to put up, and it's quite heavy to do. Other minor irritation is trying to get the tent back into the bag when you've finished camping!

Our dream tent was the Bear Lake 6 but this is a superb alternative.

We have one for DH, me, DS1 (4) and DS2(2) and we love it.

We have the front extension and carpet, the porch is currently used for a potty .

DH puts it up and takes it down on his own whilst I mind unruly boys. I recently discovered he actually rolls himself along the folded up tent to flatten it out prior to fitting it back in the bag

We are looking at a quicker to erect tent for weekend use though as it takes quite a while to fully set up the Monty and all our stuff

We love our Montana 6-my DH puts it up himself in 30 mins. Loads of space and headroom.

There seems to be a lot of them about at campsites, I like the look of them. We just got a zenobia 6 which is easy to put up and ideal for us. Didn't want to splash out too much just yet as only just got into camping. Was easy to put up and put away. Also read the reviews on Uk campsite and it got 9.33 out of 10.

It is a daddy of a tent...there are loads of them at any campsite you go to now though...so it's a bit of a bore pehaps ?. We got ours about 3 years ago (trend setters doncha know )
Very good for longer camping trips...but a bit big just for 1 or 2 days imo. There are 4 of us. We take a smaller tent for weekend trips.
The montana has loads of space. dh can put it up by himself in 17 mins (i timed him ).
Very Very sturdy...ours was the last tent standing at one campsite a few years back.

Design faults: Errm (i'm struggling here tbh)..
We never use the porch unless it's absolutely throwing it down...it's to little and too wet and rain pools in there...it's more hassle than it's worth.
It's not particularly pretty...i've seen much better looking tents about recently.

Just thought of something else... the sides are very sloped all around...it's a bit of a waste of space iykwim. We have outwell cupboards and square boxes that don't really fit it.

We have one, we love it! yes it is big, but there are 4 of us and we have to take a wheelchair and other stuff for DS - it all fits in very well with lots of space. We have the footprint and the front extension and would recommend both if going for longer than a weekend. It takes a while to put up to begin with but DH can now put it up by himself and seems to have no trouble getting it into the bag.

Love, love, love our Monty!! We have had two big camping trips in it now and there are four of us. We find there is plenty of space if it rains for kids to play and to keep everything without tripping over. The little porch is also very handy if it rains too.

There was a youtube video which demonstrates how you can put it up quickly. Takes DH on his own about 30 mins. It's not complicated

Would recommend!!!
