Went to Stanwix Park in Cumbria on Saturday. Fantastic site, with fabulous facilities, but the bloody weather ruined it.
Rain I can deal with, but the wind was horredous! . The kitchen stand with the stove and all the plates etc on it blew over about 1am this morning, it was in our utility tent, and I think that was the final straw.
When the sun came out this morning, rather than think Oh good, sun, we decided to use it as an opportunity to get everything packed away dry, as the rest of the week is to be the same.
Quite chuffed though that our wee Gelert Cadiz managed to stand up to gale force winds and torrential rain. We're normally fairweather campers only and it did us proud since its never seen rain in its two years of use.
Ah well, we're home now, just need to find things to do to fill the remaining few days of our holiday. Was going to try and find a site further up Scotland but the weather has to be the same everywhere for the rest of the week I think!
Good luck to anyone who's going camping, our trip was pretty hairy!
