Here at least this is what The Times thinks are the best.

I don't know who thought those up but LOL at Tristam campsite, Polzeath!

Am beginning to think that the Times just put random lists together especially since we took their advice and went to one of their top beaches, Porth Darfach

Was it as nice as it looks?

Well certainly wouldn't have put it down as one of the best beaches in the country.

Polzeath is lovely but that campsite was a nightmare.

Hidden Valley was nice, quiet when we were there but some pretty woods around. The parks weren't brilliant but we tended to go to the beach so didn't matter. Very clean and quiet site we found and well maintained.

I have been to number 21-Three cliffs bay in the Gower- amazing views but very windy and 30- North Morte farm, Mortehoe- amazing views but also very windy-handy for the beach though.

I've been to No1 many moons ago but spent it in a skunk induced haze so can't remember much about it!

I would like to go to Lundy Island

I have been to Wasdale Head, which is as described and you wouldn't go unless you wanted to walk from the site and visit the pub - there is nothing else to do without driving back out of Wasdale.

But I loved it, because of all that.

And we have been to Norman's Bay - you don't have to be a Caravan club member, they just charge non-members more and come and check that you are behaving in a pukka caravan club manner! great location, and many advantages to the site, but if you were in the middle section of the field it would feel a bit hectic, I think. The side against the site boundary away from the coast road is nice.

I wish there were more UK sites like the Canadian provincial and national parks, where the emphasis is on being out in the countryside rather than teeming open field on which to play footie.

Blu - we've just come back from Norman's Bay and stayed on the field side - it was fab.

Unfortunately they couldn't fit us in for a third night so we moved to anothe campsite down the road. Was not the worst one I've been to but definitely think we were a bit spoilt at Normam's Bay - will be heading back there again and will def book in advance next time.
