Camping

Camped for first time last night (well...since I was a teen)

Dp and I have planned to go camping soon at the end of the month with dss. I haven't been since I was 13 so can barely remember it (am 41 now).
Yesterday we'd spent a lovely day together, the weather was really hot so I said shall we go camping tonight? I'd spotted a campsite attached to a pub and fancied trying it. It only cost £5 a night, had use of the loos, running hot water and an outside tap, so it was ok for us two. Dss were with their dad so off we went. I loved it and can't wait to go back now. We may go midweek as dp works permanent nights so has funny days off. It can work out nice sometimes because we can visit places when they're quieter.
The pub last night was great with real ale and friendly landlord and landlady. We had a nice walk today then headed home. I must say I was very tired though. I didn't sleep quite as well as at home but we're getting an air bed to go under our sleeping bag for our next trip so hopefully that'll help?
It was so nice hearing nothing but nature and waking up to see the stunning scenery. There was only 1 other tent in the field and they were from the same town as us.

Hi Sally, it's all your fault ya know

I camped in Teesdale, woke up to birds tweetering, sheep baa-ing and rabbits bobbing about and no traffic!! I live on the corner of a main road and a busy road so this was bliss

I've sent for a dissy card from Go outdoors and they've got some cheap airbeds.

Looks like we won't be going midweek forecast isn't very good

I'm not checking out food ideas and thinking of buying mess tins with lids but they are expensive for 4 of us.
