Tom's Field is fabulous and they run a first come first served basis, rather than bookings.

I found loads when I googled UK campsites and went to the UK campsite website. They all seem to have loads of reviews - we are heading there Saturday

we went to Birchwood Tourist Park - Coldharbour on the outskirts of Wareham at half term. Clean loos, decent size pitch, reasonable shop.

We had booked, but they had people turn up who only booked that morning.

We went to Burnbake campsite and were pleased with it

We went here last summer. Lovely site - very clean and well laid out with a big field for kids to play in, a swimming pool, a shop and a restaurant. But not noisy with late night entertainment, etc. (I hate those sorts of sites!)

It's just outside Swanage by the way.

It is due to rain here tomorrow afternoon though (only for a couple of hours) grin

Herston is ok but they do have a clubhouse and there can be a bit of noise. Pricey too.

We're going to Norden Farm on the 25th, I've heard it's quiet and very child friendly but it's a few miles down the road.

Tom's Field is lovely.

Ulwell was a short drive away from Studland - not within walking distance.

Burnbake is a turn up and pitch where you like. Only for tenters not caravans. Its lovely traditional old fashioned camping. There is a stream, woodland or open grass and you just choose where you like to pitch. Someone comes around in the evening to collect pitch fees.

The loos and showers are a tad basic but clean.

Just to say don't stay at Herston if you can possibly help it! Is horrid. Eweleaze is nice but only open during August.

And when I went to Eweleaze it was terribly noisy - lots of sound systems and even an enormous group who played loud music until 3am.

I didn't mind as was my first time under canvas, but experienced friends looking for P&Q were miserable.
