Just bought a tent from Tesco of all places, total impulse but a 6 berth for £42.50. Now Im not an experienced camper, and I know its not going to be top quality, but nevertheless Im totally excited so no pissing on my bonfire please
Anyway, put it up in my garden and its huge (bout 19foot long-thats huge for me!), so now I just need ideas on where to take it. I live in Cheltenham, but will travel to Devon/cotswolds/wales etc, but I need somewhere nice. Dont want to sound snobby, but clean showers are a must!
When I was a kid we used to stay on a farm in Pembrokeshire, and it was about £6 per night, and you just turned up and picked a spot in the field. Now is it still like this or do I need to move with the times....

Can't suggest a site I'm afraid.

best to search on ukcs here

Some sites are as you describe, others you need to book months in advance.

Cheltenham? Forest of Dean my love, Bracelands for clean showers.

Look on the forest holidays site.

Pont kemys (also has a site) in the Usk Valley is close to you as well and seems nice when we drive by (to get to the tent shop )

Nappywhatevercantreaditproperly look on Tesco website, its the Vis-a-vis 6 berth tent £85.00. Its not reduced online, but in store it is!
Im so excited, I put it up in the garden earlier and my other half had to drag me in cuz I wanetd to sleep in it tonight!
Has anyone ever been to The Marlbank Inn in Malvern? It looks cheap but good.
Peachy, those camp sites are a good bet for later in the year, but for our first try I think I want to be near things for the kids, prob Cotswold wildlife park, or a good swimming pool?
Ohhh so much choice!
Lincoln farm park seems MAZIN-google it!

Naother one to consider maybe is broadway house in Cheddar? Pool and facillities but far enough away from pitches that they don't affect overall experience IYKWIM

Hehe I get it now. God for 22 I feel old not knowing the lingo! Im still trying to figure out what dd/ds/dh etc stands for!
Broadway house looks great, but £62 for 2 nights mid week! I could get a 4 day hol at haven for that, without having to pitch a tent!

It is good though- swimming pool, there's entertainment which we love (not the stuffed animal sort LOL) but am biased on that as DH's mate runs that side of it (at least he did, ahs changed hands since!)

Haven'e been since the buy out last year though. looks immensely more posh on the website.
