I've never posted in this section before must first thank you all for the invaluable advice i have picked up!!!

DH and i bought a cheapy tent a year ago to see how we got on with camping. We love it so decided this summer (prompted by death of cheapy tent) to invest in a good quality tent that will last us many many years. I am also 16 weeks pregnant and we have 2 dogs to bring along with us. We finally decided and have today purchased the Outwell Trout Lake 4 and i am ridiculously excited about it.

At £519 we now want to get in LOTS of weekends away this summer and make the most of our last few baby free breaks . We are then hoping to start baby young and really make the most of it every summer from now on!! We are going to the Orchard in Suffolk in August for our main holiday but i would love any suggestions of cheap campsites for weekends away over the rest of the summer that are about 1.5-2 hours of the sort of Gainsborough type area of Lincolnshire.

Thanks!!!

ongrats on your new tent, we bought the norfolk lake new this year and absolutley adore it.
I'm not sure if its too far but we enjoyed a weekend at rutland caravan and camping - toilets and showers were best we've ever seen and an easy walk to the village with 2 pubs serving food. They take dogs and the play area was fab too so if not for now then one for the future for you.

debbie how much did it cost per night?

fairy what do you mean by 'cheap'? (people have different perceptions of cheap campsites, so it would help to tell us a figure)

£5 per person per night?

£10 per person per night?

Jubilee Park at woodhall spa is lovely, we go there for a couple of weekends per year. Lovely walks in the woods and they have the kinema in the woods. Shop and pub within walkable distance and its a lovely little village with tea shop, deli etc.
The site is council run so showers are basic but always clean, has a lovely outdoor pool you can swim in for free when you camp there. Oh and a cafe on site cos its next to a public park.

Thanks for the suggestions
I was thinking about £10 per night for the pitch.

fairywing - think its about £12 a night for a non-electric pitch and 2 adults but gets more expensive than that peak season.
